adoption, family, and learning how to fly
I am walking for the children who have slipped between the cracks. I am walking for the kids that were forced into the system. I am walking for the children that have lost their hope, the spark in their eyes. I am walking for the ones who ask, “How long will I have to wait for a family?”
Teaching young people about a cause they can be passionate about and really make a difference for is setting a healthy foundation for them to build on as they go to college and become contributing members of society.
Want to have a real discussion about strong women? Then we have to have a discussion about birth mothers. These women, these WARRIORS, wake up every day with their bellies growing a little bit larger. These same warriors looked death in the face when they were given the option to abort their baby. These warriors had the courage to say, “No, I will sacrifice myself so that death will not win.”
My beautiful family was created through adoption - my older brother was adopted from South Korea, and I was adopted right here in the state of Arkansas. We have both learned about true love through our adoption stories, even though they are quite different. Without God's grace, I wouldn't be here to tell my story of how it all came full circle to reuniting with my biological family, almost 20 years later.
